First published in 1940, this new edition has been published to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II. It includes all of the original text, and has the extremely rare “Nazi dustjacket” picture on its front cover. The original dustjacket, picturing a Nazi officer, was deemed too controversial in the early period of the war years and was quickly withdrawn, with only a few hundred having made it into circulation.
This edition also includes a timeline of the Anschluss and “A fateful day in the Sonnalpe”, a new short story by Carol Allan.
